Meet the Experts

Dara Knobel

Vice President Human Resources, Constellation

Panelist, Dara Knobel leads the HR team supporting the Constellation Commercial organization, with over 25 years of experience as an HR professional and leader. In her nearly 13 years with Constellation, Dara has led multiple aspects of HR supporting various parts of the business including Utilities, Commercial, and Corporate. Her professional background beyond corporate HR includes management consulting and clinical/community social work. Dara is passionate about being a catalyst for optimizing effectiveness and growth of individuals and organizations and focuses on driving alignment of HR and talent strategies with business needs and objectives.

Dara earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, magna cum laude with honors, with a concentration in industrial/organizational psychology, from the University of Maryland (1997); and a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Chicago (2002). She lives with her family in Fulton, MD.

Katie Powell

Health and Well-Being Ambassador, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield

Panelist, Katie Powell serves as a Health & Wellbeing Ambassador at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst), the Mid-Atlantic region’s largest not-for-profit healthcare company. In her position, Katie creates and furthers wellness programs for employees. While the CareFirst workforce is busy taking care of members, accounts and communities, she works tirelessly to take care of them to ensure the organization can deliver on its mission of advancing affordable, accessible and equitable healthcare.

Katie is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist (CWWS) and a Certified Wellness Practitioner (CWP). Katie received her MPH from Salisbury University and has a B.S. in Community Health Education

Julie Tambussi

Sr. Director of People, Culture & Inclusion at the Ravens

Julie Tambussi serves as the Sr. Director of People, Culture and Inclusion for the Baltimore Ravens. She joined the Ravens in 2014 with an extensive background in managing all aspects of HR. She partners with Elizabeth Mearman, Sr. VP of People, Culture & Inclusion, to lead the People and Culture Team in managing the employment lifecycle from talent acquisition to onboarding and cultivating an exceptional employee experience. She is also a strategic partner in the development and execution of the goals and mission of the Diversity Action Committee.

She graduated from Boston College with a BS in Organizational Development and a MS in Conflict Management and Negotiations from the University of Baltimore. She is a Baltimore native and mom to two boys and two dogs and is an active member of the community.
