MileOneCares Supports Ulman House with $15,000 Award to Provide Free Parking for Cancer Patients

Ulman Foundation is thrilled to announce that through its giving program MileOneCares generously contributed $15,000 to help improve the parking services provided at Ulman House. This funding will be instrumental in reducing the financial burden on patients and their families while they navigate their cancer journey.

As part of the ongoing effort to ease the financial and emotional challenges of cancer treatment, Ulman House has long provided free parking for patients and their families. However, the increasing demand for parking in Baltimore—particularly in the Madison-Eastend neighborhood where Ulman House is located—has made parking a scarce and valuable resource. The growing need for parking has been felt by guests, staff, and the community around Ulman House and this award helps expand our parking capacity to better serve the needs of patients, caregivers, and guests.

The $15,000 grant from MileOneCares will fund the addition of 13 free parking spots, ensuring that patients and their families can park their cars securely while receiving treatment. This partnership is a perfect example of how organizations can work together to address the needs of communities in need. MileOneCares investment will have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of the patients and families served by Ulman House.

To commemorate this generous contribution, MileOne Autogroup’s Amanda Kodek, Chief Giving Officer and Lisa Oliveri, VP, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer visited Ulman House for a check presentation ceremony. It was an opportunity for both teams to connect in person, further solidifying the shared mission of supporting young adults with cancer during their time of need.

“We are deeply grateful to MileOneCares for their incredible support,” said Kimberly Weiner, Chief Impact Officer at Ulman Foundation. “This funding will not only help us meet an immediate logistical need for our patients, but it will also provide peace of mind to those facing one of the toughest challenges of their lives. Cancer is already expensive, and our goal is to ensure that young adults can focus on their treatment and recovery, without the added stress of worrying about parking or transportation.”

Thank you to MileOneCares for their generous contribution, and for helping us create a positive impact in the lives of so many young adults facing cancer.
