Ulman Foundation x Project Rx

An 8-Week Virtual Exercise Series for AYAs

PROJECT RX: EVOLVING THROUGH CANCER

Changing the Prescription with Functional Exercise Programs for Cancer Patients and Survivors

Our Winter 2026 8-week virtual series begins Sunday, February 1, 2026 and will be held every Sunday over Zoom.

Ulman Foundation, in partnership with Project Rx, is launching a structured virtual exercise series designed to support the physical health, confidence, and overall well-being of adolescents and young adults impacted by cancer.

This program offers a guided, accessible, and oncology-informed fitness experience tailored to individuals during and after treatment. Delivered virtually via Zoom, the series is designed to meet participants where they are — physically, emotionally, and geographically — making it accessible to AYAs both in Baltimore and beyond.

Sessions are limited to 8 participants per cohort and enrollment will be based on a first-come first-serve basis. Up to two cohorts may run simultaneously, depending on interest.

READY TO GET STARTED?

Our first cohort is currently full, and interest has been incredibly encouraging!
We are using the waitlist to determine whether we can open a second February cohort running at the same time as the current session.

If you’re interested in participating, we encourage you to complete the waitlist form. This allows us to gauge interest for an additional February cohort and ensures you’ll be first to hear if space becomes available now or in a future session.

How the Ulman Foundation x Project Rx Program Works

Participants will engage in weekly, small-group sessions focused on rebuilding or establishing a safe baseline of movement, improving strength and functional mobility, and building confidence in their bodies over time. Programming is thoughtfully designed with the unique physical considerations of cancer treatment and survivorship in mind.

Each participant will meet individually with Project Rx prior to the start of the series to establish personal fitness baselines and goals. These benchmarks will be revisited at the conclusion of the program to help measure progress and overall impact.

The Project Rx Program Might Be Right For You If…

  • You’re currently in treatment and want safe, guided movement designed with cancer in mind
  • You’re a survivor or Ulman House alum looking to rebuild strength and confidence at your own pace
  • You’re navigating life after treatment and want structure, support, and accountability
  • You’re a caregiver interested in movement options created specifically for the AYA cancer community

Whether you’re actively in treatment, early post-treatment, or navigating long-term survivorship, this program offers structured, supportive movement designed to meet you where you are.

The Project Rx Program Is Designed To Support…

  • Rebuilding or establishing physical health during or after cancer treatment, with care that reflects the realities of AYA survivorship
  • Strength, confidence, and functional movement through safe, guided, oncology-informed exercise
  • Greater access to movement by removing common barriers through virtual, approachable programming
  • Continued connection to Ulman’s mission by extending wellness support to young adults beyond Baltimore

Together, these elements reflect Ulman’s commitment to supporting the whole young adult — during treatment, through recovery, and into life beyond cancer.

GET TO KNOW YOUR COACH

Meet Emma!

Hi, I’m Emma, an exercise oncology trainer and the founder of Project Rx. With an extensive family history of cancer, I’ve seen firsthand how a diagnosis affects both the individual and everyone around them. That experience inspired my mission: to change the way exercise is prescribed and understood in the healthcare and oncology setting.

I hold a Doctorate in Bioenergetics with a specialization in Exercise Oncology, and for the past five years, I’ve worked directly with cancer patients and survivors—both in person and online—to help them rebuild strength, reduce treatment-related side effects, and regain confidence in their bodies.

My expertise lies in creating safe, effective, and personalized exercise programs for every stage of the cancer continuum—whether it’s recovering after surgery, managing the lasting impacts of chemotherapy or radiation, or navigating advanced diagnoses like bone metastases. Through Project Rx, my goal is to provide evidence-based strength training that is designed to meet each patient and survivor’s unique needs.
